Introduce

Origin

In order to create a multi-ethnic friendly campus, our school provides more channels for our students to study Indigenous culture, and implements work to assist Indigenous students in their academic studies, life and career planning, so as to improve students' learning outcomes and enable Indigenous students on campus to receive more appropriate care. To care for and build Indigenous students' sense of belonging to the school and confidence in their own ethnic groups, the "National Cheng Kung University Indigenous Student Resource Center" was established in the Academic Affairs Office in accordance with Article 25 of the "Indigenous Education Act" Establish an " Indigenous Student Resource Center".

The relevant measures based on its establishment are as follows:

1. Article 25 of the Indigenous Peoples Education Act.

2. Article 12 of the Implementing Rules of the Indigenous Peoples Education Act.

3. Key points of subsidy for universities and colleges to set up Indigenous student resource centers.

4. The Indigenous Association and the Ministry of Education announced on June 19, 2018 that "when the number of Indigenous students in colleges and universities reaches a certain number or ratio, the central education authority should encourage the establishment of Indigenous student resource centers."

 

Purpose

Enhance the multicultural view of ethnic groups in the school, create an ethnically friendly campus, and hope that indigenous students on campus can receive better care; build a cooperation bridge between the school and indigenous ethnic areas, public and private institutions, and engage in cultural, educational, and industrial development and other studies.

 

Target

(1) Near and medium-range goals

1. Strengthen the channels for academic, psychological, career, and other counseling for Indigenous students on campus.

2. Reduce the dropout and dropout rates of Indigenous students and increase Indigenous students’ sense of belonging to the school.

3. Provide lectures, general courses and credit courses related to indigenous culture and contemporary issues.

4. Create an installation image and cultural space that is ethnically friendly.

 

(2) Remote target

1. Establish the "National Cheng Kung University Indigenous Alumni Association" to integrate alumni resources and increase the social influence of Indigenous alumni of National Cheng Kung University.

2. Promote exchange and cooperation plans between our school and indigenous communities, government agencies and schools at home and abroad.

3. Make National Cheng Kung University the premier base for indigenous culture, teaching and research, issue exchange and opinion formation in the south.

4. Enhance the multicultural outlook of teachers and students in the school and promote the coexistence and common prosperity of the diverse ethnic groups in the school
